About the House
We work in the dark, that we may serve the Light.
We have been students of the occult for as long as we can remember. The path has led us through several doors. It began in Freemasonry, where we first learned that a symbol can hold more than words, and that a lodge room can become a temple. It led on to the Rosicrucian current, with its invisible brothers, its hidden vault and its call to heal the world quietly. And it brought us to the tradition of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, whose synthesis of Qabalah, ritual, Tarot, astrology and alchemy remains, for us, the richest map of the Western Mysteries.
Each door taught us something the others could not. Above all, it taught us that no single student holds the whole of the Work. Insight grows in conversation, between lodge brothers, between teacher and pupil, between a reader and an old book at midnight.
That is why the Domus Invisibilis exists. It is a house for the secret students of the occult: those who study in quiet, practise without fanfare and often walk the path alone. Here you will find essays, reflections and insights from our own studies. In time, we hope you will also find the voices of others. If you have written something on the Mysteries that deserves to be read, we would be honoured to receive it. With your permission, it may find a place in these pages, under your own name or a name of your choosing.
This is a safe house. Questions are welcome, however basic or however strange. Disagreement is welcome, as long as it is offered with respect. What does not belong here is anything that leads away from the Light. This is a place for the right hand path, for reverence, and for the patient work of becoming who we were meant to be.
The lamp is lit. The door is open.
